Strengthening Synergy in Physics Education across PTKIN, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Joins PPPFI National Work Meeting 2026

Banjarmasin & Palangka Raya—Lecturersfrom the Physics Education Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta—Dr. Winarti, M.Pd.Si., Iva Nandya Atika, S.Pd., M.Ed., and Puspo Rohmi, M.Pd.—participated in the 5th National Work Meeting (Rapat Kerja Nasional/Rakernas) of the Indonesian Association of Physics Education Study Programs (Perkumpulan Prodi Pendidikan Fisika Indonesia/PPPFI), held from August 9–12, 2026, in Banjarmasin and Palangka Raya, South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan.
The PPPFI National Work Meeting serves as an academic networking forum as well as a strategic platform for Physics Education and Physics Teacher Education (Tadris Fisika) Study Programs from Islamic higher education institutions under the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. The forum provides an opportunity to strengthen communication, collaboration, and synergy in advancing physics education across Indonesia's Islamic higher education institutions.
The 2026 PPPFI National Work Meeting was attended by representatives from 10 Indonesian Islamic State Universities (UINs) offering Physics Education or Tadris Fisika programs. The participating institutions were UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, UIN Antasari Banjarmasin, UIN Palangka Raya, UIN Alauddin Makassar, and UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan.
Four Main Agendas of the 5th PPPFI National Work Meeting
The 2026 PPPFI National Work Meeting was not limited to organizational coordination but was also accompanied by a series of academic and student activities. The program featured four main agendas.
First, the PPPFI National Work Meeting, held at UIN Antasari Banjarmasin. One of the key agendas was the election of the new PPPFI leadership for the 2026–2030 term, along with discussions on the organization's strategic work programs to support the development of physics education within PTKIN.
Second, the National Collaborative Community Service Program (PKM), held at MAN Kapuas. The program involved madrasah teachers across Kapuas Regency and provided an opportunity for academics and Physics Education/Tadris Fisika Study Programs to contribute to teacher development and capacity building through community engagement.
Third, an International Seminar held at UIN Palangka Raya. The seminar provided a platform for sharing ideas and research findings in physics education while creating opportunities to strengthen academic networks and collaboration at the international level.
Fourth, the National Student Competition, which provided an opportunity for students to develop their academic competencies and creativity while strengthening interaction and collaboration among Physics Education and Tadris Fisika students from various PTKIN institutions.
Strengthening Networks and Collaboration in Physics Education
The participation of lecturers from the Physics Education Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga in the 5th PPPFI National Work Meeting represents part of the program's efforts to strengthen academic networks and collaboration among Physics Education and Tadris Fisika Study Programs across Indonesia.
The forum also provided an opportunity for lecturers to exchange ideas on current challenges and opportunities in physics education, establish inter-university collaborations, and develop collaborative programs that can contribute to improving the quality of physics education in schools and madrasahs.
UIN Sunan Kalijaga's participation in this national forum further demonstrates the commitment of its Physics Education Study Program to contributing to the advancement of physics education through academic collaboration, community engagement, student competency development, and the strengthening of institutional networks at the national level.
