The Physics Education Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta once again held the Thesis Discussion #2: Final Steps Towards Graduation on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. The event was attended by 16 students from the 2019 and 2020 intakes who were in the process of writing their theses, along with their thesis advisors. The event aimed to motivate students to remain enthusiastic in completing their final assignments, with the goal of graduating in the following semester.
The event was opened by the Head of the Physics Education Study Program, Iva Nandya Atika, S.Pd., M.Ed., who provided encouragement and valuable guidance to the students. In her remarks, she emphasized that completing studies is not solely an academic responsibility but also requires personal commitment, discipline, and active communication with the advisor.
The main session of the event consisted of discussions and sharing sessions between students and their advisors. Students shared the progress of their theses, the challenges they faced, and their plans for completion. In an open and supportive atmosphere, the lecturers provided input and strategies for effectively completing their theses.
One important outcome of this activity was the growing commitment of students to complete their theses on time. Some students even stated their personal goals of completing their theses within the next one to two months and established a more regular mentoring schedule. The study program also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting students through an intensive mentoring program that is monitored regularly. It is hoped that all participating students will be able to complete their theses and graduate next semester.
With this Thesis Discussion #2, it is hoped that students will be more motivated and have a clear direction in completing their studies. Support from lecturers and the study program is a crucial part of the effort to produce resilient, responsible graduates who are ready to move on to the next level.
