Physics Education UIN Sunan Kalijaga Conducts International Benchmarking on EQF with Leibniz Universität Hannover

Yogyakarta, 31 March 2026 — The Physics Education Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education, State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta conducted an international academic activity under the framework of an Implementing Arrangement (IA) focusing on international benchmarking and curriculum alignment based on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
The activity was carried out in collaboration with Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany, involving Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Andreas Nehring as an invited expert. The program aimed to enhance curriculum quality and strengthen the global competitiveness of the Physics Education Study Program.
During the session, Prof. Nehring presented key insights on curriculum design aligned with European higher education standards, particularly the EQF framework. The discussion highlighted the importance of aligning learning outcomes with internationally recognized qualification levels to ensure that graduates meet global academic and professional standards.
The activity also included interactive discussions, academic consultations, and knowledge-sharing sessions involving lecturers and academic stakeholders. These engagements provided valuable input for reviewing curriculum structure, learning outcomes, and the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE).
As a key outcome of this activity, the program produced a curriculum benchmarking report and EQF-aligned learning outcomes, which will serve as an important reference for future curriculum development and international accreditation efforts.
This Implementing Arrangement reflects the ongoing commitment of the Physics Education Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta to strengthen international collaboration and continuously improve academic quality in line with global standards.
