FITK Coordination Meeting Discusses Even Semester Scheduling, ACQUIN Preparation, and the 2026 Strategic Programs

Yogyakarta, October 28, 2025 — The Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FITK), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, held a faculty coordination meeting on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in the Meeting Room on the first floor of the FITK building. The meeting was attended by all heads and secretaries of study programs at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, as well as heads of institutional units within FITK. The meeting was officially opened by the Dean of FITK, Prof. Dr. Sigit Purnama, S.Pd.I., M.Pd., who emphasized the importance of synergy among study programs and institutional units in delivering efficient, innovative, and internationally competitive academic services.

One of the main topics discussed was the scheduling of courses for the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. This year, the faculty introduced a new study program–based scheduling system. Each study program is given the authority to design its own course schedule, while the faculty will allocate classroom spaces proportionally. The courses offered will also be adjusted based on students’ needs assessment, ensuring that the learning process runs more efficiently and aligns with students’ academic requirements.

In addition to scheduling matters, the meeting also highlighted preparations for ACQUIN international accreditation. The Physics Education Study Program is included in Cluster 1, together with the Mathematics Education, Biology Education, and Chemistry Education Study Programs, with Dr. Paed. Asih Widi Wisudawati, M.Pd. serving as the cluster coordinator. Currently, the Physics Education Study Program is preparing various quality assurance documents and supporting evidence as part of the ACQUIN assessment process, which is expected to become a significant step in strengthening academic quality and international recognition for FITK’s study programs.

The meeting also addressed the strengthening of international partnerships and student achievements. FITK has established international collaborations with several universities in Malaysia, including Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) and the University of Malaya (UM). The Dean emphasized that these collaborations should not stop at the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), but should be followed by concrete programs such as student exchanges, collaborative research, and cross-border academic activities. At the same time, each study program is encouraged to continuously promote student achievements in academics, research, and innovation through more structured guidance and facilitation.

The coordination meeting also served as an initial step in preparing the 2026 strategic work programs. Each study program was requested to begin preparing comprehensive annual reports as part of strengthening the academic reporting and governance system. The Dean explained that starting next year, the Employee Performance Targets (SKP) will be integrated with the SISTER system, which will serve as the basis for evaluating lecturers’ performance and determining functional academic promotions. Therefore, study programs are expected to guide lecturers in achieving their SKP targets in accordance with the tri dharma of higher education. The Lecturer Workload System (BKD) will also be integrated with SISTER, where SKP achievements will be automatically derived from BKD fulfillment data.

As part of efforts to strengthen learning facilities, the faculty also plans to build a Teaching Laboratory on the 4th floor of the FITK building, which will be equipped with modern facilities to support microteaching activities, research, and the development of technology-based innovative learning models. This initiative is expected to become an important milestone in enhancing the quality of learning and research within FITK.

Through this coordination meeting, FITK reaffirmed its commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in becoming an excellent, adaptive, and globally competitive faculty. Strong collaboration among the faculty, study programs, institutional units, lecturers, and students remains a key factor in realizing the vision of UIN Sunan Kalijaga as a character-driven, inclusive, and sustainable university.
