Yogyakarta, November 21, 2025 — The English Club of the Physics Education Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga held its first activity aimed at developing students’ English proficiency. On this occasion, a TOEFL mock test was conducted at the Basic Physics Laboratory, 4th Floor, with Norma Sidik Risdianto, Ph.D. serving as the activity coordinator.

The event, which took place on Friday morning, was attended by 20 students from the 2023–2024 cohorts. The participants completed a series of test sections covering structure, written expression, and reading comprehension, following the official TOEFL format but in a more concise version.

The results of the mock test indicated that the students’ English proficiency was generally at a good level, with several students demonstrating excellent performance above the average score. These findings serve as a positive indicator that the English language mentoring program conducted by the English Club has a significant impact on students’ readiness to take the TOEFL ITP, particularly for the purpose of applying for scholarships.

This activity is expected to continue motivating students to improve their English proficiency while preparing them to pursue various scholarship opportunities in the future. As a follow-up to the test results, the English Club plans to organize further sessions in the form of intensive training programs.
